About This Activity
It's back!! Girls Gone Tri is up and running...or swimming, cycling, and running as the case may be....
Join us on Saturday, June 4 and/or Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. at the Bluffton/Beaufort County Pool, 55 Pritchard Street, Bluffton, SC 29910. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned endurance athelete, these are great races for you. 250 yard pool swim; 10 mile flat and fast bike, 2 mile run! We offer the opportunity for individuals and relay teams to both be your best!
This will be a USA Triathlon licensed event! If you do not have a current USAT license, you will purchase either a one day license or annusl license during the registration process. The one-day is $15.00. For more info regarding USA Triathlon, see: www.usatriathlon.org.
Register now before the first price increase on 4/15/16! Don't forget to grab one of the cool Girls Gone Tri hoodies when you register...!
Event details and schedule
The races start at 7:30 a.m! Transition, day of registration (assuming there are still slots available), and packet pick-up open at 6:30 am. The pool and restrooms open at 7:00 am. At present, we are not planning a packet pick-up the day before the races BUT that may change.
There will be a pre-racemeeting at 7:20-7:25 am.
The pool swim is 250 yards. Up and back in each lane. Up/back then under the lane line to go up and back again; repeat 'til you climb out after 250 yards. During registration, you will enter an estimated 250 yard swim time on which you will be seeded for the swim. (Best way to figure this out is to do a few 250 yard timed swims. Consider that you'll be ducking under lane lines and that you may be a little excited going out when considering the estimated times.) No wetsuits. No swim aids not approved by USA Triathlon...and yes, you are allowed to use a snorkel!
The bike is an out and back. Very flat, can be very fast! Roads are not closed! (Can't get them entirely shut down....sorry!) The roads will be marked with signage and blue spray chalk though the course is easy to follow. There will be police traffic control BUT you must ride defensively, head's up...NO headphones or ear phones on the bike!!! There are no water bottle hand-ups on the bike so go out with a full bottle! PLEASE NOTE: we reserve the right to modify the bike course or cancel the bike if we deem it unsafe for the athletes due to weather or other events that may be out of our control.
The run is 2 flat and fast miles! The roads are marked and the course is easy to follow. (Essentially a big rectangle!) There is one aid station that you get to hit 2x. Water and Gatorade!
You will have both a bike number and run number. The race is chip timed!
All updates will be posted on the www.multisportfitnessllc.com website (currently being updated) and the Multisport Fitness, LLC Facebook Page, which is kept current!
