2014 Sweatin' Burnt Orange Bike Tour
Sun, Oct 26, 2014
About This Activity
The Sweatin' Burnt Orange Bike Tour, now in its tenth year, is the annual fundraiser for The University of Texas at Austin Cycling Club. Each year, Texas alumni and club supporters ride through the beautiful hill country around Blanco, Texas.
The event hosts five fully supported route lengths between 10 and 75 miles. Rest stops and SAG vehicles ensure a safe, comfortable ride through the back country. At the end of the ride, participants are treated to real Texas BBQ on the square. One complimentary T-shirt is included in the registration fee.
Texas Cycling is proud to announce the first Sweatin' Burnt Orange 'Boneshaker Round-Up'! Boneshaker Project, a local Austin nonprofit whose mission is to inspire kids to lead active, health lifestyles, will be offering a 'Boneshaker Round-Up' for kids at the ride. Modeled off their Fit Is Fun After-school programs, kids can ride bikes, explore an obstacle course, and 'shake their bones' while parents ride. Kids ages 6 and up are welcome to join in the fun, regardless of whether or not they know how to ride. Bring your child's own bike and helmet or use one provided by Boneshaker Project (limited quantity). Please email 'firstname.lastname@example.org' if you plan to bring your kid(s) to the 'Boneshaker Round-Up'.
Additionally, we're glad to announce our first ever university student discount. Full registration price for students is $30, and a student ID must be presented at packet pickup.
This event is an incredible Texas riding experience that'll leave you Sweatin' Burnt Orange!
