About This Activity
March 13, 2020
Because of concerns regarding the corona virus, and its potential for community spread, our team has made the decision to postpone the Shamrock Run. Please note we have also cancelled bib pickup.
We don’t have a final decision on dates but we'll keep you posted. We don't want to upset the existing racing schedule and so are thinking a Sunday in the fall might be a good place to fit this in.
According to the CDC: "Different parts of the country are seeing different levels of COVID-19 activity. The United States nationally is currently in the initiation phases, but states where community spread is occurring are in the acceleration phase. The duration and severity of each phase can vary depending on the characteristics of the virus and the public health response." We'd like to be part of the effort to flatten the curve.
We appreciate your registration and want to remind you that your registration also serves as your club membership in Yellowstone Rim Runners for the next year.
All members get free registration in our Free 3 races (Rims to River, Rim Runner Mile and Dover Trail Trek) and we will keep you posted on those events We will still be hosting our weekly club runs, and when we’re at Canyon Creek (3rd Wednesday of each month) your beer is still $1 off ($3 vs $4). As a member you receive a 15% discount at Time Out Sports (limits may apply) and finally, you’re a member of a great group of runners and walkers.
If you have further questions or concerns please contact us.
A note about refunds. Our policy, as stated in the waiver you signed, is that we do not issue refunds. And a reminder, we are postponing the event, not cancelling it. Finally, your registration is also your club membership. Thank you so much for your understanding.
The Shamrock Run is our annual membership renewal event. Your fee includes a one year membership in YRR, which is an RRCA Club. So, sign up now and celebrate the start of road racing season and membership to a great club! See you at the park! Costumes are encouraged!
5K and 10K races start at 1pm. The start line is on the 3rd Ave side of Pioneer Park, alongside Daylis Stadium. Races end on the path in Pioneer Park in Billings, MT. You'll see the Competitive Timing finish line set-up when you arrive on race day.
The 10K is two laps of the 5K course. 10K runners will turn around on 3rd Ave between Grand and Avenue B, head back up the hill and out Parkhill for the second lap. You do not enter the park until after completing the second lap and you are headed to the finish line.
For those still on the road when we need to reopen, about 2:15, the sweeper will ask you to move over to the sidewalk for safety. Thank you
While we also love dogs and music, for safety, we ask you to leave your dogs and earbuds at home.
The Kids Fun Run is at 2pm. It will start just north of the finish line area. The kids run up the path on the hill to the Zimmerman Center, north to Parkhill, east to 3rd, down 3rd, into park, follow path up and through the finish line.
