Questions and Other Race Info
Finisher medals for all events. Long sleeve shirts for all events.
Timing will be chip timed. Starts will be wave starts according to event and gender.
Cross country ski course- 1.9 miles: This ain't no Birkie course. We will have a groomed course, but when we say groomed, we mean packed down. Some of the course will take place on two track where we will groom wide enough to try and allow for skate skiing, some will take place on single track that will only allow for classic skiing. THERE WILL BE HILLS. Be prepared to climb and to ski downhill. We'll try not to throw any black diamond skiing on the course. If a racer is clearly trying to pass you on single track, please step off to the side of the track and allow the faster skier to pass when it is safe to do so. Racers attempting to pass should announce their intentions and pass on the left per trail etiquette. We will try to have options for cross country skis rentals available with more information to come.
Bike course- 10K: FAT BIKES ONLY ALLOWED! Tires must have a minimum width of 4 inches to race. If your tires are skinnier you will not be allowed to race! Course will have some decent climbing - this is not a flat course. We will have options for fat bike rentals available with more information to come.
Run course- 5K: Running snowshoes recommended however not required. The trail will be 'groomed' (ie: packed snow) however Yaktrax or ice spikes are recommended, it's the middle of winter after all so ice is a thing. Course will be fairly technical with lots of quick ups and downs, quick turns, and winding paths. If a racer is clearly trying to pass along a single track section, please step off to the side when it is safe to do so to allow them by. Runners attempting to pass should announce their intentions and pass on the left per trail etiquette when safe.
