About This Activity

Girl Scout Gold Award* Project:

  *  To bring more awareness to service animals

  *  Preparing/training a service animal for future placement

  *  Bring comfort/support to those individuals who have a specific disability  

*The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.  The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA, earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Only 5.4% of eligible Girl Scouts successfully earn the Gold Award.  Girl Scout's highest award was created in 1916, and has gone through numerous changes over the years.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT TO THE PUBLIC.  PLEASE  COME, HAVE SOME FUN AND HELP ME TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL GOLD AWARD PROJECT.

    Race route pending approval - subject to change.

What:

  *  5k, Fun Walk, etc. (rain or shine)

  *  Informational Fair

  *  A Girl Scout Gold Award Project - to bring more awareness to service/companion animals

Participants are invited to bring their favorite K9 to run/walk with.  (Vaccinations need to be current, on a leash and clean-up after any messes).

Some of the activities:

  *  FREE water/fruit for all participants

  *  Kids fun run (12 and under)

  *  Informational Booths

  *  Attendance prizes (must be present to win)

  *  PVC Bed Build to be donated to present/future service animals

 Awards:

  *  Awards to be given to first adult male and female (20+ years old)

  *  Awards to be given to first youth male and female (13 – 19 years old)

  *  Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event

     AXXL and bigger ... $15

     Shirts are sapphire blue with white writing.
