About This Activity
Jeremy Herbstritt was a 1998 Bellefonte Area High School graduate who loved life and the outdoors. Tragically, he was killed on April 16, 2007 while attending graduate school at Virginia Tech. Herbie’s Home “Town Loop” (a 4-mile run/walk and 10-mile run) was originally created in 2007 by Jeremy’s family and friends to remember and honor him and give something back to the community who gave so much to them. All proceeds will be used to help build a community track in Bellefonte in Jeremy's name.
Event details and schedule
COURSE: The 4 and 10-mile run courses are wheel measured, and begin at the intersection of High and Spring Streets in downtown Bellefonte. The two events follow the same initial 4-mile loop around the perimeter of downtown Bellefonte (i.e. “TOWN LOOP”). Following this loop, the 10-mile course travels up Valentine Hill through Amberleigh development, across SR 150 to Fishburn Hill, through Fisherman’s Paradise to Roopsburg Rd. and finishes in front of the Talleyrand Train Station on High Street. Due to diminishing interest there will NOT be a bike ride this year.
ENTRY FEES: $20 for the 4-mile run ($10 no shirt), $30 for the 10-mile run ($15 no shirt) if post-marked by August 1, 2015. $25 for the 4-mile run ($15 no shirt), $35 for the 10-mile run ($25 no shirt) after August 1, 2015 and on race day. A link for ONLINE registration is available on our Foundation website: www.thejeremyherbstrittfoundation.com
T-shirts will be guaranteed for the first 200 entrants.
