About This Activity
The Beaufort River Swim Committee is proud to present the 9th Annual Beaufort River Swim, a benefit for the Learn-to-Swim Program of the YMCA of Beaufort County! Our course is the unique estuary called the Beaufort River, with the 3-Mile Race starting at the Port Royal Landing Marina, winding around the curve, and finishing at the day dock, adjacent to the Beaufort Waterfront Park and where spectator watch the finish line. Race your way to win the coveted BRS Bobble Head!
The 3-Mile Competitive Open Water Swim begins at the Port Royal Landing Marina and *NEW* this year is the addition of a 1-Mile 'Fun Swim'. The Fun Swim will begin after the competitive swimmers pass the Beaufort Hospital dock. Fun Swim participants can wear a wet suit, use fins and a snorkel. Fun Swim participants are not eligble for awards, but this 1-mile swim is a great opportunity to experience what open water swimming is like. Participants swim with the tide in both courses.
Proceeds from the Beaufort River Swim benefit the YMCA Learn to Swim Program, which directly provides financial assistance to children, families and individuals to take swimming lessons.
LAST DAY TO REGISTER ONLINE (ON THIS SITE) IS THURS., JUNE 4. STILL WANT TO RACE? LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE YMCA IN PORT ROYAL ON FRIDAY, JUNE 5 AND 'DAY OF' AT THE CHECK-IN AT THE DOWTOWN BEAUFORT MARINA.
