Bar Harbor, ME
Due to the ever changing state guidelines and a recent statewide YMCA discussion. The Catch That Turkey 5k will be virtual this year. With rising cases across the state, we believe this is the safest path for our community.
But, this is not your normal virtual 5k! You still have the challenge to Catch that Turkey!
This year's Turkey will run the 5k course this weekend. Look for fun footage and results on how the Turkey did on social media and the Y website. Who is the Turkey this year???
Starting Tuesday morning (Nov 24), the 5k course will be marked to race with orange chalk paint arrows and our official Turkey signs. Course maps are also available on our website.
Run the course any time between Tuesday, November 24 to Sunday November 29.
Submit your time before 8pm on Sunday, November 29 to email@example.com
All registered participants will receive a Catch That Turkey medal, mailed to their address, as well as, a race certificate.
Anyone who beats the Turkey's time will have their name entered into our raffle for one of Bartlett Bakery's beautiful and delicious creations!
Registration is open until Thursday, November 26. Walkers are encouraged to participate!
Remember to be cautious when racing. Roads are not closed.
Have a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving!
Join the MDI YMCA on Thanksgiving Day for it's annual Turkey Trot lovingly dubbed: Catch That Turkey. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to catch the turkey. What . . . or who is the turkey? One brave Y staff member is the turkey. If you, as a runner, can finish the race before the turkey, your name will be placed in our raffle drawing. Come on out before your feasts and catch that turkey!
All proceeds benefit the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
**There is NO race day registration this year**
