Sat, May 21, 2016
About This Activity
This year will be The 11th Walk to End Hunger and 2nd 5K! This event was created to help the local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in Kennebec and Somerset Counties. All funds raised go directly to organizations to help people in need. The race will start and finish on the Kennebec River Rail Trail –Capitol Park( in front of the YMCA in Augusta.) The Walk to End Hunger and 5K road race is the single largest fundraiser for Maine State Credit Union each year. One hundred percent of everything we raise goes directly back to the Kennebec and Somerset communities to help feed hungry families. In the past nine years, the event has raised more than $150,000 and every penny was returned back to the community. All registration and package pickups will happen near the starting line of the event, which is located across from the YMCA in Augusta (By the Rail Trail). Packet Pickups for the run start at 7:00 AM and registration for the walk is at 8:30.
