The Easter Spirit 5K is a trail run/walk, set to take place at 9:30 AM on March 31, the Saturday before Easter, at Everest Park. Everest Park is 160 acres of former farmland, with incredible vistas, a pond and stream, and is home to the Brian Bisgrove Home of Courage, Finger Lakes Tournament Series (in lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey), and the Everest Park Pavilion.
This family-oriented run/walk will take you on an exhilarating and challenging path, with multiple elevation changes, and breathtaking scenery. Everyone is welcome to join us! If you aren't an runner, don't worry! Enjoy the walk around the fields, through the woods, and over the hills.
Net proceeds from the Easter Spirit 5K will support the efforts of Champions for Life at the Brian Bisgrove Home of Courage. The BBHC, as it's affectinately known, is a retreat and respite home for families with children who have life threatening or severely debilitating medical conditions. Children from the Central New York area, and their families are invited into the beautiful, handsomely-appointed log cabin for a 3-day stay of rest and repose, all free of charge. The BBHC is NOT a revenue generating program; Champions for Life fully financially supports the program, along with donations from our community, small grants from benefactor organizations, and events like the Easter Spirit 5K. In 2017, Champions for Life hosted 60 families at the Brian Bisgrove Home of Courage. Eventually, we plan to build additional BBHC homes at the Park, with the hope that . Please consider, in addition to your race fee, a donation to the BBHC for efforts in the 2018 season.
Finishers will receive a beautiful finisher's medal, and a t-shirt! Children are welcome to register as well! Bring the family - there will be an Easter Egg hunt for the kids, and maybe even the big white bunny will show up with Easter candy!
