Come see why this is called the World's Toughest Half (WTH). You will never know till you 'tri'. The ultimate athlete-focused, old school "must do" race! Depart from the bland routes with overcrowded fields and enjoy a true adventure into the foothills of the Sierras. The World's Toughest Half will prepare iron-distance athletes for any Ironman event. It is a an excellent stepping stone for preparing and acclimating for the Lake Tahoe Ironman. Swim in the temperate, calm and scenic Folsom Lake (67-71F). Enjoy a scenic, very tough 56-mile bike course with extremely minimal traffic, incredible scenery and an amazing top secret narrow road down to the secluded banks of the Bear River! Only four signal intersections (in each direction) in 56 miles. This course offers a complete test of your cycling abilities with sustained climbs, short steep climbs, flat sections and fun roller coaster sections. The WTH run has gone back to it's roots with a loop down into the American River Canyon onto parts of the infamous Western States Trail taking full advantage of the challenge and beauty of the American River canyon in the Auburn State Park with no car traffic. The second loop takes the runners onto Auburn Triathletes favorite part of the run, the shaded canal trail and spacious paved State Park roads with breathtaking views of the American River around every turn!
Swim in the temperate, calm and scenic Folsom Lake (67-71 F). The International offers challenging routes over diverse terrain, with incredible scenery and minimal traffic. Follow a shortened version of the WTH bike course then run 2 loops,a 6k and 4k loop which features a beautiful shaded canal trail and spacious paved State Park roads with breathtaking views of the American River around every turn!
Mini Triathlon: is an excellent novice challenge with diverse terrain, incredible scenery and virtually no car traffic on both the bike and run! Follow a much shorter version of the WTH bike finishing up with an awesome run with breathtaking views of the American River Canyon on a 4k loop which features the beautiful shaded canal trail and spacious paved State Park roads. The race will be held in conjunction with the World's Toughest Half, International Tri and Long Course Aquabike events.
Long Course Aquabike: The Long Course Aquabike offers 2/3's of the World's Toughest Half for those not fond of running. Enjoy the unique opportunity to go head to head with long course triathletes! Enjoy a beautiful calm swim at Rattlesnake Bar then ride the World's Toughest Half bike course going head to head with the Worlds' Toughest Half triathletes over a 56mi bike course. Finish early, enjoy the post race festivities and cheer the runners on.
High Tec T- A unique finishers medal with logo - Lavish post-race meal- ICE COLD BEER, beverages, fresh fruit, healthy snacks and assorted other sponsor goodies. You will be chip timed with an ankle bracelet chip, with computerized results.
Training Day April 24th- Enjoy this lightly supported Training Day with an excellent Swim Clinic by Boost Swimming, well received last year; kayakers in the water, a bike aid near the International turn around and an aid station for the run in T2/finish. A great way to become familiar and comfortable with the course, test out your gearing, your pace, your nutrition. Ask questions of fellow triathletes, enjoy the opportunity to train in a group setting or individually. Cost $10.00 You must also be a USAT member or buy a one day membership for the training day.

This race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. So you must either have your USAT Membership card number to complete this registration or pay $12.00 for a USAT one day license or purchase an annual membership. You will still need to show your USAT card and your ID at packet pick up.

A mandatory course information meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m.
You may also pick up your chip on Sunday morning from 5:30 - 6:45 a.m. at T1, Rattlesnake Bar Folsom Lake.
Active.com registration closes Thursday, May 12, 2016 at midnight. You will then have to register on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Packet Pick up at the American Canyon Overlook.
**No registering the day of race.**
Transfer to another cateogory is available up to May 7, 2016 via Active.com, but you will not be refunded if you choose a lower cost distance and you will be charged the difference if you choose a higher entry fee. There will also be a $10 processing fee.
Tahoe Peak Endurance LLC tries to strike a balance between the harsh “No Refunds” policy customary in the endurance world and a respect for the costs involved in accommodating for no-shows and late registrations. If you can’t participate for any reason, you will receive a credit (less $50 processing fee) toward entry into next year's triathlon. Please inform us by April 15, 2016 to be eligible for this refund.
