The Georgia Trust’s Uptown Rhodes Race is moving up one week in 2016 to Halloween weekend, and what could be more fun than a run from a spooky castle?
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29, 2016, and bring your whole family for the Uptown Rhodes Race at the Haunted Castle. This dog- and stroller-friendly 5K will wind through the creepy twists and ghoulish hills of one of Atlanta's oldest and loveliest neighborhoods, Ansley Park. Feel free to run or walk in your scariest Halloween costume!
Afterwards join us at the hair-raising after-party at Rhodes Hall for trick or treating, a costume contest, food and prizes. You can even take a tour inside our haunted castle, and who knows, maybe you’ll get a glimpse of our resident apparition.
Event details and schedule
The course is stroller and dog friendly (just as long as your pooch is well-behaved, leashed, and under your control at all times).
Dogs are welcome to join you during the race. There will be special "pet pit stops" along the race route to provide dogs with drinking water. Dogs and their runners will also have their own special start group.
The event is rain or shine. No refunds will be given.
Exciting post-race party After the race, stick around for a huge post-race party on the lawn of Rhodes Hall featuring lunch, refreshing drinks and great music. All participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male/female finishers, top 3 male/female finishers in each age group, first participant with a stroller and first dog.
If you think your pooch has what it takes to race with the best of ‘em, the run/walk event will begin at 9 a.m. at Rhodes Hall, located at 1516 Peachtree St. N.W., Atlanta, Georgia. Interested runners and walkers can register at www.active.com. Race day registration is available.
All proceeds benefit The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
