About This Activity

The 8-Week Interval Run Program is designed for triathletes and runners who want to gain speed, strength and endurance while working with an experienced coach who will organize and lead weekly interval run sessions.  This program is perfect for athletes who are training for a Spring Triathlon, 10K, Half Marathon or Full Marathon.   Coach Mari Fridenmaker will begin the program on Wednesday, January 7th at Piedmont Park's Active Oval at 6:00am for a one-hour session and will continue every Wednesday morning through Wednesday, February 25th.  Athletes should be injury-free and able to run comfortably for at least 4 miles to participate in the program.  All athletes must be a member of USA Triathlon or sign a waiver.  Cost is $85 per athlete.  No refunds given after registration.

Event details and schedule

Free parking is available on Park Dr, Charles Allen Dr, Piedmont Ave, 11th, 12th and 13th St.  We will met at the Active Oval at the bottom of the steps near 14th St.  Be sure to bring a bottle full of sports drink, a watch and/or Garmin for keeping track of your splits and a dry shirt for afterward.

5:45 - 6:00am: Dynamic warm-ups

6:00am: Warm-up loop, then workout will begin

6:45am: Cool-down loop, then stretching

7:00am: Workout ends
