About This Activity
Would you like to have fun, stay active, AND help the animal community, all at once? Sign up for the Pre-Vet Club at UGA's 11th annual Dawg Jog 5K!
Each fall, the members of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club at the University of Georgia set out to increase awareness, raise funds, and provide support for a local philanthropy. The club is proud to be sponsoring the Athens Area Humane Society for the 2014-2015 school year.
The Athens Area Humane Society is a donor supported no-kill 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to lowering area euthanasia rates through adoption, spay/neuter, and pet retention programs. They have many events throughout the year to raise awareness for the homeless animals in Athens, educate the public on pet care, and find forever homes for the dogs and cats at their no-kill shelter facilities.
The race will wind throughout the beautiful UGA campus and your (leashed and well-behaved!) canine running companion is invited to join! Prizes will be given to top runners with dogs, as well as top male and female runners in different age groups.
All (human) participants will receive a free event t-shirt at the end of the race!
Donations raised through this event will go directly to the Athens Area Humane Society.
Sign up today to support this very worthwhile cause!
