About This Activity

In today's world it's easy to think kids are out of control and impossible to understand. And yet with all the advancements our society has made over the past 10 years, the process of growing up is harder now than it's ever been. In fact, more and more kids today are having to make that transition into adulthood alone.

And that's where Young Life steps in. For over 60 years, Young Life leaders have purposefully stood in that current. Right in the middle of all that turbulence and craziness. Young Life leaders enter the world of kids and spend hours, days, weeks, and even months listening, learning, and earning the right to be heard.

We're convinced kids don't need more rules. They need Jesus. And they need to hear about him from someone they trust. Someone they know. Someone who's taken the time to earn that right. And someone who will love them regardless of their response.

In Ashland, our dream is for every kid in every high school in our county to have the opportunity to process the claims of Jesus Christ and make an informed decision for his or herself. It just so happens that our Adult Committee and fundraisers includes a handful of avid cyclists and a few triathletes. So the Ultimate Ride was the merging of 2 of the things we love.

Last year with the help of local sponsors and riders we were able to raise over $10,000 toward our Young Life operating budget in Ashland County. This will be our 3rd Ultimate Ride, and it promises to be a goodie! The course will head out of town from Ashland High School along some slow rolling hills and beautiful back county roads before heading towards Lucas High School. A detailed map of the course will be provided to all riders in your goodie bags on Race Day.
