Mail-in fees are $20 (5K) OR $10 (1 Mile) if mailed by 3/22/14 (Forms may be obtained by e-mail from firstname.lastname@example.org or http:// www.runwithourvetsandbeatrcc.com on the Web). Walk-in fees (through 3/28) are $25 (5K) OR $10 (1 Mile) at The RUNNER, 3535 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington TX 76013 (817-461-2281) through 3/28/14. Race day fees - $30 (5K) OR $10 (1 Mile).
This is a fun & competitive race around the UTA Campus area in Arlington, featuring beautiful neighborhood-street courses. DIRECTIONS FROM DALLAS, FORT WORTH, etc. From I-30 take the Cooper St. exit; go south on Cooper to UTA Blvd.; take a right on UTA Blvd to The MAC (Maverick Activities Center). OR From I-20 take the Cooper St. exit; go north on Cooper to UTA Blvd.; take a left on UTA Blvd to The MAC (Maverick Activities Center).
Net proceeds will provide financial and community support to our nation?s disabled Vets. The race is also to raise awareness about Renal Cell Carcinoma. It is being held in honor of the organizers? father, Erron Papillion, who served our country in the Vietnam War, and received many medals of honor, including 4 Purple Hearts, The Silver Star and The Distinguished Service Cross. He passed away in 2011 from a rare form of renal cancer. .
Awards to 1st Overall male and female finishers, 1st Masters male and female finishers. Top 3 finishers in the following age/gender groups also will be awarded: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over. Ribbons to all 1 Mile finishers.
