About This Activity

Start off your triathlon season with the Skyline Triathlon! Sky Tri is a super early-season tri that features a pool swim! This event is perfect for first timers or for those who want to get an early start on the 2016 race season. The mostly flat bike course — there’s one very steep downhill on the way out and an equally steep uphill on the way back — takes participants along the scenic Huron River Drive, while the fast and flat run course travels around the school grounds and the surrounding Ann Arbor neighborhoods. Cheer on your athlete from the Skyline pool bleachers, then wait for them to complete their race by the finish line!

USA Triathlon recognizes two specific categories apart from the Age Group divisions: the Athena and Clydesdale Categories. As Epic Races triathlons are sanctioned by USA Triathlon, we also offer these competitive categories. To compete in the Athena category, women must meet the official minimum weight standard of 165 pounds. To compete in the Clydesdale category, men must meet the official minimum weight standard of 220 pounds. The age breakdown for both Athena and Clydesdale will be 39 years of age and under and 40 years of age and over. Please note that Athena and Clydesdale categories are available only for the Sprint Triathlon. If you are competing in one of the Athena or Clydesdale categories, you are eligible for awards within that category but are ineligible for age-group awards.
