About This Activity

Special Olympics New Hampshire invites runners and bicyclists to participate in the inaugural Rail Trail Run & Ride event being held on September 27 along the beautiful Northern Rail Trail in Andover, NH!

The Rail Trail Run & Ride will be an all-inclusive event featuring a variety of running and bicycling events and a family fun ride and festival all rolled into one!  This fast and flat course will be a great event to test your personal best time!

This event is designed to be welcoming for people of all ages and abilities from the most avid runners and cyclists to the most novice beginners with 5K and 10K running/walking events and a 50K bicycling event.  All of the races start and finish at Proctor Academy and travel the restored Northern Rail Trail in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region.  Awards will be given out to the top three male and female finishers in each running and biking division.

Families can join in the fun during a 4.5 mile family bike ride beginning at the Highland Lake Inn and traveling the Northern Rail Trail to Proctor Academy's Carr Field.  A running race for children under the age of 10 will also be held at Carr Field.

In addition, unique awards categories are being offered in the 5K race to promote inclusion in community fitness activities, including Special Olympics and Unified team awards categories.

This Law Enforcement Torch Run event will help cover assessment costs for first year Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes.
