About This Activity

7th Annual Coach Lynn 5k Memorial Run

2nd Edition of the golf Best Ball Event (Official name pending)

Time has flown by since last year's event, and it is upon us once more. This September 8th at Veenker Memorial Golf Couse in Ames, IA we will be hosting our annual fundraiser event. We are eternally humbled by the love, energy, and support you all have put in to make this such a memorable event each year. The donations and event entries all go towards our scholarship given to Iowa High School athletes each spring. Please join us to celebrate the legacy of Coach with us this fall, we hope to see you there!

***Group photo and breakfast will follow the races, so please stick around.***

Running Events-

We will have the Kid's Run to start the day off, with the course going around the practice green. Age limit for the Kid's Run will be 10 years old.

The 5k Run/Walk will follow the Kid's Run at Moore Park right next door to Veenker. You are welcome to compete as an individual either running or walking, strollers and dogs are welcome. You can also make a 3 person 3x1 mile "Snickers Relay Team". If you are unaware of what a Snickers Relay is, check out the Videos section of the Coach Lynn Facebook Page linked below. Relay teams need not be submitted in registration, and can be handled day of the race.

Best Ball Golf-

We will have the 18 hole golfers tee off first thing in the morning to time it up with breakfast at the turn. 9 hole golfers will tee off after the breakfast. This year we will again have some custom golf balls for the event to tee off with. Additionally, we are working on some special prizes for the best ball so keep an ear out for more details as we get closer!!

Proceeds and donations from the race go to the Coach Lynn Memorial Scholarship. Each year $1,000 will be awarded to 1 male and female athlete graduating from an Iowa High School.
