About This Activity

Hello kind PeacePal supporters! On Saturday, May 3rd, the UNM Project PeacePal Student Group will be hosting our second annual Pace for Peace 5K run/walk event!

Join with us to pace for peace! We will be meeting at the University of New Mexico Johnson Field to run/walk, make connections with amazing people in our community, and raise money for our umbrella organization Project PeacePal, who manages many amazing local and international youth leadership projects (for more info visit

Registration & Check-in will begin at 8:00 am; the race will itself will begin at 9:00 am on Johnson field (SE corner, look for canopy tents). The route will be around the perimeter of the UNM campus with the finish line at Johnson field.

Participants who register in advance online will receive a complimentary $10 Pizza 9 gift card!  Participants will also receive a Pace for Peace t-shirt* as well as free water and snacks during and after the race.

*Note: In the event that we run out of t-shirts, PeacePal WILL NOT be able to order surplus.. T-shirt and preferred size are guaranteed to individuals who have registered online by April 19th.. Be sure to sign up before this date to reserve your size!

The categories of the race include:
5k run
5k walk
5k Team Relay (for groups of 4 people) *note: there will also be an optional costume contest for the relay division; the team with the best costumes will receive a gift basket

$25 for adults
$20 for children 12 and under
Group rate at $18 per person (must sign up with a group of at least 10 people; please email Leah Lucero at if you are interested in our group rates)

Event schedule and times

The races will start at 9:00 am from Johnson field (with registration/check-in starting at 8:00 am) and will proceed around the perimeter of the campus with the finish line at Johnson field.
