Morrow Mountain Trail Races

About This Activity
This may be our toughest trail race yet!
This year we've added a
5K & Half Marathon distance.
The Race(s) will challenge runners on looped courses up and over mountain tops.
Rise to new heights at one of the best courses around. Steep, Rugged and awaiting your arrival as we kick off the 2015 Race year. Morrow Mountain is one of the highest peaks in the ancient Uwharrie Mountains of central North Carolina. Although the park contains several peaks, Morrow Mountain is a highest. The 5K will climb to the top of Hattaway Mountain.
The Half Marathon and 10K will wind to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, and Hattaway Mountain, and the Half Marathon will go to the top of Morrow Mountain.
Fun For All...
We will be starting out on pavement, for spacing. The Course here at Morrow Mountains State Park has a little bit of everything. From hard packed earth, to very rocky sections of trail. Be prepared to duck under low hanging limbs and jump downed trees on the trail. The trail is mostly single track and there are some sections of serious elevation gains on the course. Morrow Mountain is part of the Uwahrrie Mountain range. The Uwahrrie mountains are believed to be some of the oldest mountains in the world.
The State Park offers plenty to do. Fishing and boating are popular pastimes. Use the family car or RV, horseback or canoe, put on a pair of hiking boots or bait your favorite fishing pole. Your adventure awaits.
Finisher awards to all those who finish the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K
