Top 3 Men and Women Overall. 

Top 3 in age groups 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and above. 

Top Men and Women in Theme Categories: Mother of the Bride / Father of the Bride (ages 50 and above), Maid of Honor / Best Man (ages 21-50), Prom Queen / Prom King (ages 14-20), and Flower Girl / Ring Bearer (ages 13 and under).

The first 250 registrants will receive a t-shirt as well as other assorted items!

What is the cost on race day?

$30 for 5k

$25 for 1 mile walk

 What type of payment will you accept?

Cash, check or credit card

Who receives a shirt?

Everyone who paid to enter the run or 1 mile walk is eligible to receive a shirt.  .  Requested sizes were given in order of registration.  We cannot guarantee that participants that register late will be given the size that they requested.  If you would like to check back after the race, we would be happy to try and exchange your shirt if extras are available. 

Who receives a bib?

Runners and walkers.

What time do the events start?

5K- 9:00 am

Walk- 9:10 am

Awards- 10:15

Can I start the race late?

No

Can I walk the 5K?

Yes

Is this race chip timed?

Yes. The chip is on the back of your bib and will record your start and finish time.

Are pets allowed on course?

No

Are children  allowed  to participate?

Yes

What time will awards presentation begin?

We estimate award presentation beginning at 10:15 am.

Do I have to wear a “trash the dress” outfit?

No.  Additional awards will be presented to participants that chose to wear some sort of costume or accessory.

Could you offer costume suggestions?

Wedding veil, bridesmaid dress, prom and homecoming gowns, top hat, garter, cumber buns, bouquet of flowers, tiara, tuxedo (ugly or not), pageant sash, etc.

How do I register?

Please go to:     www.active.com     to register in advance and receive  discounted price. Participants may also register race day for an additional $5 cost.

Who is ACCESS?

ACCESS is an emergency homeless shelter for women and children.  Visit our website (www.access-shelter.org)  for additional information regarding mission and programming.

What are the age group awards for the timed portion of race?

Top 3 women and men overall will receive  a trophy. Top man and woman will receive a trophy and gift basket. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the following age groups/sex division will receive a medal:   1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and above.

When do I sign up for the costume categories?

Any time before the race begins on race day..

At the half way mark

Where is the start line and finish line?

Start: Across from Copley High School    Finish:  Near entrance of High School

Will there be refreshments at the finish line?

Yes. Refreshments will be served inside the high school cafeteria  Bagels, water, bananas and cookies.

Where are the bathrooms?

Inside high school

Where can I see my race results?

Results will be posted inside near food tables. Results can also be found at www.runtoyouracing.com

Where  and when can  pick up my packet?

Packets will only be given out at race day beginning at 8:00 am.

ACCESS invites the men and women throughout Northeast Ohio to don their old formal wear and running shoes to race in the “Trash the Dress 5K” Race and 1 Mile Walk featuring:

  • a red carpet walk to the starting line
  • Gatorade served in champagne flutes
  • a photo-booth snapshot to commemorate the event
  • a chocolate fountain to dip your after-race banana
  • participate in trashing yours and others dresses all in support of Akron’s homeless women and children
