CrossFit Aiken will be hosting our 3rd Annual Police and Fire Games.  This CrossFit competition benefits Aiken Department of Public Safety’s Police Activities League (ADPS PAL).  This is a non-profit organization that provides athletic and recreational activities to children who may not qualify for standard athletic programs because of various environmental issues.

Male or female teams of 4 (no co-ed teams)

No set divisions (RX, Scaled, or Masters)

24 Team capacity (96 compeitors only)

Workout 1:

Bench Press 1 Rep Max - Teams will have 15 minutes to find a one rep max bench press for each member. The team's score will be the total weight lifted by all 4 teammates (total amount lifted will then be divided by the team’s total body weight).  The bar must touch the chest at the bottom (no pause required), and the elbows must be completely locked out at the top.  The competitor's butt must stay in contact with the bench and feet must stay in contact with the ground for the duration of the lift.  Teammates can help lift the bar off before a rep is attempted. When a competitor is performing a rep, all three other teammates must be spotting.  Weight belts and wrist wraps can be used, but elbow wraps or benching shirts are not permitted.

Workout 2:

Deadlift 1 Rep Max- Teams will have 15 minutes to find a one rep max deadlift for each member.  The team's score will be the total weight lifted by all 4 teammates (total amount lifted will then be divided by the team’s total body weight).  For the lift to be successful, the knees must be locked at the top, hips must be open, and shoulders back.  The lifter must show control at the top, and will be told when he or she can drop the bar.  Weight belts and Rehband-style knee sleeves may be used.

Workout 3:

For time: Any two teammates will complete 75 wall-balls (20lb for men, 14lb for women) while the other two rest.  One teammate must be holding their chin above a pull-up bar (palms in or out) for the other to be working on the wall-balls.  They can switch tasks whenever they want.  Once they reach 75 wall-balls, the other two teammates will perform the same tasks, with the same stipulations, while the first two teammates rest.

When both groups have completed 75 wall-balls each, the two teammates that began the workout will perform 75 burpees.  One teammate must be holding the top of the push-up position for the other teammate to be working on the burpees.  Again, they can switch tasks whenever they want.  Once that group has reached 75 burpees, the other group that was resting will perform the same task. When both groups have completed 75 burpees each, the workout has been completed. (20-minute time cap)

Workout 4:

For time: Teams will begin by running 800 meters.  After the run, each team must push a Rogue Dog Sled 400 meters (370/245).  While the sled is being pushed, one teammate will carry a barbell (135/85) in the front rack position, one teammate will carry a barbell locked-out overhead (95/65), and one teammate will farmer's carry two kettlebells (70/44).  All barbells must be in the proper position (on shoulders and overhead) and the kettlebells must be in hand for the sled to be pushed, and all teammates must be behind the sled at all times.  Teammates can switch tasks whenever they want, but no equipment can touch the ground at any time, and nothing can be set on the sled.  If any piece of equipment touches the ground, the team must drop everything and sprint back to the starting line, then back to their equipment to continue. Once the sled has been pushed 400 meters, each team will run 800 meters again to finish the workout.  (20-minute time cap)

Each volunteer will receive an event shirt for helping out at CFA’s Police and Fire Games. We ask that all volunteers arrive at 7am on the day of the event.

Groups Switch between Event #1 and Event #2

            End time: 3:15

Awards will be present immediately after the end of the final heat.
