Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to be an experienced runner to participate?  No, all are welcome, and you can do it.  Run or Jog!  We do have a cut off time for the races:  Runners will need to finish by 2:30pm.

What do I get for registering?  All participants who register before 10/9/21 will receive our awesome long-sleeve tech race shirt!  Runners will have access to fully stocked aid stations along the route, and food at the finish.   Registration fees will increase after Oct 1st.

Will you have shirt and race # pick up before race day?  Yes, on Friday, October 21st from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday October 22nd from 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Running With E's - 146 N. What happens if I register for the 50k but change my mind before or during the race?  During the race, participants may "drop down" and switch from the 50k to the 1/2 marathon.  As long as a participant completes at least 13.1 miles,1/2 marathon finisher.  Please Note:  After initial registration, we will not be able to refund the difference in the registration prices if you drop down a race. Also, you will not be able to bump up to a longer distance.

What happens if local or state government restrictions cause the races to be cancelled? We will transfer your registration to the 2023 race (date to be determined). WE WILL NOT BE MAKING THIS A VIRTUAL RACE.

What will you have at Aid Stations?  Expect water, sports drink, and energy food for 1/2 marathoners and ultras will also have  sweet, salty, and savory snacks!

What will the course be like?  Heritage park is a beautiful wooded park with paved trails, service roads, single and double track trails, along with wide open spaces.  Trails are well maintained with occasional roots, and rolling hills.  Some areas could be muddy in the event of rain, but for the most part, the park and trails are in excellent condition during the entire year, and especially scenic during the Fall.

What gear will I need?  Sunrise on October 23 will be at 8:01am.  We require everyone running the 50k to have a headlamp, flashlight, or other light to begin the race.  Trail or road shoes will both work for the trails of Heritage park.  There will be a designated area at approximately the 13.1 mile mark for 50k runners to keep a drop bag or other personal items needed during the race.

What can I win and how?  We have some great prizes up for grabs.  Awards will be given to the Male and Female Overall and Masters (40+ years old) champions and to Male and Female age group winners in the following categories:  18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
