Although the trail has an urban feel, especially where it circumvents the busy US 65/60 cloverleaf interchange, there are scenic views to be had, such as the stretch through Sequiota Park and its connection to the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.
This forested area contains savanna, glades, and old fields. Facilities and features include boat ramps, an unmanned firearms range, fishable ponds, several intermittent streams, and two permanent streams (Niangua River, Jakes Creek).
Sometimes simple things are the best! While this section may not feature stunning vistas, waterfalls, fens or glades, it's still a pleasant walk in the woods, and simply delightful after a spring rain.
