Kanawha Trace Trail is a 31.7 mile point-to-point trail located near Barboursville, West Virginia and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking & trail running and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
The 35.7 miles of the orange-blazed main trail is laid out in a large loop. The loop is bisected by SR125 (north loop and south loop). Both loops are EXTREMELY strenuous and the elevations are steep and provide zero switchbacks. Very challenging trail. Usually a multi-night trip utilizing 7 camps.
